VPS Configuration Advice for Medium-Traffic OpenCart Store
« on: February 20, 2026, 09:09:05 AM »
Good day professionals,
I am planning to migrate my OpenCart store from shared hosting to a VPS environment due to performance limitations. Could anyone suggest an appropriate CPU, RAM, and storage configuration suitable for a medium-traffic online shop? I am considering AMD-based servers for improved performance efficiency and would like advice on the best setup for stability and scalability. Proper database optimization and server-side caching are also important factors for me. Is Hostingsource.com vps hosting good? Any experiences to share here? thanks.

I would greatly value your professional input.

I moved my OpenCart site from shared hosting to hostpro.com VPS because page speed and cart delays were hurting conversions. Once I layered in server-side caching (Redis + OPcache), the database lag disappeared and checkout times improved. Their support team helped me configure the caching stack, which saved hours of trial and error. For a shop that needs to scale gradually, hostpro.com gave me both stability and performance headroom without overspending.

hostpro.com’s VPS platform uses NVMe storage, which significantly improves disk I/O performance compared to traditional SSDs. Daily backups are automatically generated and retained for 30 days, allowing both full-image and file-level recovery. Multiple control panels such as cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk, CWP, and CyberPanel are supported. This flexibility helps when integrating with different deployment workflows. Server locations in Tampa, Amsterdam, and Warsaw also help reduce latency for geographically distributed traffic.
