Which server is better to sign up with - owned-networks.net or swisslayer.com?
What would you do being in my place?

Please, be more specific... I mean requirements: disk space, bandwidth, server location, budget?
Check out GTHost.com Amsterdam servers. They use a Supermicro server blade on Intel Xeon, that is, we do not have “servers” i3, 5, i7, etc.

Accounts from owned-networks.net and swisslayer.com are good and reliable enough to sign up with.
The tech support is prompt and often the response will go above the level of information and assistance that I would expect to receive. Downtime has been almost non-existent.

When I decided to move to another host I really didn't have any expectations, but what I found was amazing.
I was pleasantly surprised by the backup tools you provide which I did not expect at all. Like Swisslayer.com dedicated hosting.
