Try LiteSpeed Web Servers (LSWS) as the main web server instead of Apache. LiteSpeed is a drop-in replacement for Apache with .htaccess file support.

With no keep-alive LiteSpeed Hosting connections:

  • 89% faster than Apache 2.2 with pre-fork MPM.
  • 167% faster than Apache 2.4 with event MPM.
  • 15% faster than Nginx.

With keep-alive LiteSpeed connections server:

  • 245% faster than Apache 2.2 with pre-fork MPM.
  • 533% faster than Apache 2.4 with event MPM.
  • 67% faster than Nginx ( VPS vs Dedicated Server

Most of the time LiteSpeed server beats out the competition in speed.

LiteSpeed Web Server can be used with any Apache cooperative control board, such as cPanel and Plesk.
