Running multiple Docker containers on a VPS
« on: October 31, 2026, 04:26:43 PM »
I'm moving a small development environment from shared hosting to a VPS. I want to run several Docker containers: a web application, a database, Redis, and a reverse proxy.

I'm looking at configurations around 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, and 120 GB NVMe. My budget is approximately $25–30 per month.

I've noticed HostPro.com while comparing available VPS plans. Does 8 GB RAM sound comfortable for this setup, or would it be better to start with 16 GB? I'm not expecting heavy traffic, but I'd like to avoid running out of memory when rebuilding containers or performing updates.

One thing I would check before choosing a VPS provider is how easily you can recover your data after an unexpected problem. hostpro.com creates daily backups of all services, so restoration is possible in cases involving damaged data, failed updates, or hacking. They also provide free technical assistance from qualified specialists 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Having that kind of support available can make server management much easier.
