I run a PHP website with a fairly large MySQL database. The site itself isn’t particularly complex, but search queries and background jobs have started causing slowdowns on shared hosting.
I’m considering a VPS with 4 vCPUs, 8 GB RAM and NVMe storage. I’d like to stay below $30 per month if possible.
Hostpro.com is on my shortlist, although I’m still comparing different providers and configurations.
Would you prioritize RAM and faster storage for this kind of workload, or should I look for more CPU cores? I’d appreciate advice from anyone who has moved a database-heavy site to a VPS.
