However, it is possible to install WordPress in a directory other than root. In this case, the admin dashboard is accessible from the subfolder address: https://alkalab.com/blog/wordpress-admin-panel-tutorial/

yes, there are many companies who do the same because majority of them has custom php script for their product on their homepage and for blog section they usually go with wordpress

Yes, it is possible. And this is a wide spread practice. I've worked with 3 companies, and all of them used the same practice.
